Weekly Newspaper Ad Rates

Rates are based on both schedule and size, with the smallest ad in your program determining the prevailing rate category. The examples below are for common sizes. A full page measures 10 inches wide by 15 3/4 inches high. Other size ads are proportionally smaller. Ads are also available in one column inch increments starting at 10 inches. Questions? Campaign advertisers must pre-schedule ads in at least five consecutive issues. Additional ads scheduled through the contiguous six month period enjoy the same discounted prices. All dates must be specified in advance. The column inch rate ranges from $9.19 to $18.30, based on the smallest ad in your program.

Extended Campaigns include a minimum of 16 issues within any six month period. The column inch rate ranges from $6.50 to $12, based on the smallest ad in your program. All dates must be scheduled in advance, and placements may include all scheduled publications: U.S.1 Newspaper, Directories, and Calendar.

Consecutive Insertion Contracts are available for a minimum of 26 issues up to a full year and provide rate protection, discounts on mailing lists, and other special services. The column inch rate ranges from $6.19 to $14, based on the smallest ad in your program. These rates apply to programs that include placements in all scheduled publications: U.S.1 Newspaper, Directories, and Calendar.

Contract Notes

Prepayment of a minimum of 4 ads is required from all first time advertisers and those not active in the past year. A lower rate to horizontal ads.

Recognized advertising agencies qualify for a 15 percent discount at the Flex Rate only.

Most production services are included when you purchase space. Overlays are charged at $20 per insertion. Reversed type ads cost $10 extra per insertion. Other extraordinary costs may be passed along (to be confirmed in advance).

Changes in copy or ad design are welcomed up to the Friday prior to publication. Advertisers bear the responsibility of notifying U.S. 1 of changes. Advertisers bear responsibility for reproduction quality of camera-ready ads. Please use an 85 line screen.

World Wide Web ads

Take a minimum half page ad in any issue with a relevant theme, and you will receive a 400-word interview as a bonus. The story (which you will pre-approve) will run in the same issue as your ad.

Classified Ads

All paid classifieds are put on the Internet at no extra charge. The minimum charge is $7 for up to 14 words, each additional word 50 cents. A $3 billing charge will be waived if payment is received prior to publication. Repeats with no changes cost 40 cents a word. The cost for 16 or more consecutive insertions without changes is 30 cents a word, 14 word minimum, to be paid in advance. We accept MC, Visa, checks, and money orders.

Boxed classifieds are subject to the rates quoted above for display ads.

U.S. 1, Princeton's Business and Entertainment Journal is delivered free to more than 4,500 offices each Wednesday morning. Founded in a basement in downtown Princeton by former Time Inc. reporter Richard K. Rein in 1984, U.S. 1 has grown into one of Princeton's great business success stories.
