Caring for a person with Alzheimer’s disease may present challenges. The ability to make sense of difficult behaviors can make a caregiver’s job easier and may improve quality of life for everyone involved. An upcoming workshop will teach caregivers how to avoid unnecessary arguments and recognize the triggers which may result in aggressive or risky behaviors. In addition, the workshop will teach communication techniques to effectively respond to repetitive actions, recognition difficulties, and anxious or agitated feelings.
The Martin and Edith Stein Assisted Living Residence will host an Alzheimer’s Association educational workshop Wednesday, August 14, from noon to 1:30 p.m. The workshop is entitled: “Communication: The Key to Understanding Behaviors.” Free. RSVP to 732-568-1155 or tehrlich@wilfcampus.org. 350 Demott Lane, Somerset. On the Web: www.wilfcampus.org. Space is limited and lunch will be served at the event.
