Karen Jezierny

Einstein’s Alley, the private, non-profit economic development initiative for central New Jersey, and the area’s attempt to organize itself into a recognizable center of technology similar to central California’s Silicon Valley, has appointed four new members to its board of trustees.

Karen A. Jezierny, Princeton University’s director of public affairs, is founding director of the university’s Policy Research Institute and associate dean for administration at the Woodrow Wilson School. She formerly served as assistant state treasurer under Governor Jim Florio. She also served on the staff of the speaker of the General Assembly. She holds a bachelor’s in urban studies from the University of Connecticut and a master’s in government from Harvard.

Douglas W. Schoenberger is vice president of public affairs for Verizon New Jersey where he lobbies Verizon’s positions on technology and broadband policy issues. Prior to joining Verizon in 2007 he was based in Washington, D.C., advocating on international service issues for AT&T to the FCC. He has a bachelor’s in applied mathematics from Union College and a master’s in operations research from Cornell.

Marguerite L. Mount is managing director of the Mercadien Group at 3625 Quakerbridge Road. Her areas of expertise include the performance of audits, reviews, and compilations, and strategic, business, tax, and estate planning. She is also a certified grant writer and serves as treasurer and a member of the executive committee of the Hamilton Partnership, a business group designed to improve the economic growth and development in the greater Hamilton area. She is a graduate of Seton Hall’s School of Business.

Richard C. Woodbridge is a patent attorney at Synnestvedt & Lechner on Nassau Street and a long time supporter of New Jersey’s high tech activities. He specializes in computers, computer software, technology transfer, licensing, and the organization of high technology businesses.

Woodbridge was a project engineer with the international equipment department of Proctor & Gamble, an examiner in the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, and an associate in the Washington office of the international law firm of Baker & McKenzie. He has served the New Jersey State Subcommittee for Capital for New Technology, the New Jersey Technology Transfer Merit Program Selection Committee, the New Jersey Business Incubator Task Force, and Congressman Richard Zimmer’s Science and Technology Advisory Committee. He earned his undergraduate degree in electrical engineering from Princeton and his law degree from George Washington University.

The continuing members of the Einstein’s Alley Corporation Board are Martin Bierbaum, executive director of the Municipal Land Use Resource Center; Thomas Bracken, president of Tristate Capital Bank; Robert Giordano, president of RFG Inc. and former research chief at Fort Monmouth; Herbert Greenberg, president and CEO of Caliper Corporation; Sherrie Preische, vice presiden of Genmab and former executive director of the New Jersey Commission on Science & Technology.

Also on the board is Kenneth Traub, former president and CEO of American Bank Note Holographics. Since the recent acquisition of that company by JDUniphase (U.S. 1, July 9, 2008), Traub has taken on the role of strategic executive advisor. He is expected to remain in that capacity through the transition, which will wind up this fall.

The co-executive directors of Einstein’s Alley are Katherine Kish of Market Entry Inc., and Louis Wagman ofat Technology Management Associates, who both serve as ex-officio members.
