Courses for Careers In Fitness

Fitness education remains one of the most popular and fast-growing career fields in the country. Thomas Edison State College and Mercer County Community College are offering their latest rounds of certification programs for fitness professionals, starting on Saturday, January 24.

MCCC has two courses for fitness pros, the five-session “Fitness Coaching for Fitness Professionals” and the six-week “Fitness Training Certification.” Both are led by World Instructor Training Schools.

“Fitness Coaching” runs on Saturdays until February 21 and is for certified trainers. The course aims to teach fitness pros more effective ways to teach their clients and help them establish more reachable fitness goals. Cost: $350.

“Personal Training” begins on Sunday, January 25, and continues on Sundays until March 1. Five weeks of intensive training and learning are followed by the National Exam on the sixth week. The course, which runs again on Sundays from March 15 through April 26, costs $499.
