Financing News

Adavaxis (ADXS), 675 Route 1 South, Technology Center of New Jersey, North Brunswick 08902; 732-545-1590; fax, 732-545-1084. Thomas Moore, CEO. www.adavaxis.com.

Adavaxis, a developer of live Listeria monocytogene vaccines, has received $379,742 from the state Economic Development Authority by selling some of its net operating loss carryovers from prior years through 2010. Adavaxis has received $624,221 through the EDA over the years.

Soligenix (SNGX), 29 Emmons Drive, Suite C-10, Princeton 08540; 609-538-8200; fax, 609-452-6467. Christopher J. Schaber, president and CEO. www.soligenix.com.

Soligenix, which develops drugs to combat serious side-effects of cancer and other treatments, has received $245,810 from the state Technology Business Tax Certificate Transfer Program. The program enables tech and biotech companies in financial trouble to sell their unused net operating loss carryovers (NOLs) and unused R&D tax credits for at least 80 percent of the value of the tax benefits to unaffiliated, profitable companies in New Jersey. This allows technology and biotechnology businesses with NOLs to turn their tax losses and credits into cash proceeds to fund more R&D, buy equipment or facilities, or cover other expenses.

Bank of Princeton Posts Earnings Gain

The Bank of Princeton’s annual earnings statement reported a four-fold growth over its 2009 earnings.

Bank of Princeton’s 2010 net income was $2,369,000, up from the $413,000 it posted in 2009. The bank attributes the revenue to its loan and deposit products.

The bank posted total assets of $488 million in 2010, an increase of $223,514,000 over the prior year. Loans increased by nearly $111 million to $285.8 million and deposits grew by 95 percent to $426 million.

Bank of Princeton also invested in acquisitions in 2010. In September it closed on the purchase of MoreBank, a small chain that operated in and around Philadelphia. Bank of Princeton also acquired the former Provident Bank office in Montgomery last May and opened a new Monroe branch in December. Bank of Princeton plans to open a new location in Lambertville later this year.

Bank of Princeton (PFS), 183 Bayard Lane, Princeton 08540; 609-921-1700; fax, 609-921-8350. Andrew Chon, chairman. www.bankofprinceton.com.

Trademark Win

Sabinsa Corp., 20 Lake Drive, Twin Rivers, East Windsor 08520; 732-777-1111; fax, 732-777-9401. Kavita Subramanian, senior manager. www.sabinsacosmetics.com.

Sabinsa, maker of cosmetics and herbal extracts for the pharmaceutical and nutraceutical industries, has won its trademark case against Creative Compounds, now that the U.S. Supreme Court has denied an appeal by Creative Compounds to hear a lower-court decision that found that company had violated Sabinsa’s trademark for its ForsLean formula.

In July the U.S. Court of Appeals decreed that Creative Compounds had created a “likelihood of confusion” between ForsLean and Creative Compounds’ Forsthin, both of which are weight management supplements. In its denial, the Supreme Court announced that “the ForsLean mark is commercially strong. Accordingly, this factor favors Sabinsa as a matter of law.”

Solar News

United Stationers Supply Co. (USTR), 100 Liberty Way, Cranbury 08512; 609-619-4000; fax, 609-409-9066. Wayne Scott, general manager. www.ussco.com.

United Stationers Supply and the Sudler Companies (the landlord) are developing a 3.25-megawatt roof-mounted solar installation on top of the former’s Cranbury distribution center. According to USS, the array will generate as much as 90 percent of the plant’s electrical needs in Cranbury and will be ready by the end of this year.

Name Changes

The 2008 merger of architecture and engineering firms CUH2A and HDR of Omaha is officially complete with the renaming of CUH2A as HDR. Financially the transaction closed in the summer of 2008. The firm has 250 employees at its Lenox Drive location, which now join HDR’s 1,300 employees in name. The company has architecture, engineering, and planning staff in more than 40 locations.

Technicolor (formerly Thomson) (TCH), 2 Independence Way, Princeton 08543-2023; 609-734-6800; fax, 609-734-6885. www.thomson.net.

Thomson, a France-based firm that handles patents, licensing, and corporate research for consumer electronics brands, has adopted its parent company’s name and will now operate as Technicolor.

The new name is part of a recapitalization that is expected to generate more than $2 billion in cash infusions from stock buybacks and reinvestments.

Thomson filed Chapter 15 bankruptcy (which allows bankruptcy proceedings for companies with foreign locations) in a U.S. court in December as protection from the French government. Technicolor will continue to trade as TCH on the New York Stock Exchange.

People deserve good life and personal loans or just secured loan would make it much better. Just because people's freedom bases on money.

The home loans suppose to be essential for people, which want to start their organization. As a fact, this is not really hard to get a sba loan.
